Everything Burns (Star Kids SongFic)

Sheik watches as people celebrate the return of the Star Kids and the return to peace. She sees Nicholas and Aariqua together holding hands. “I knew it was too good to be true,” she said, “He’s forgotten me.” She had a tear in her eye and played her harp. Then she took off her mask. She was none other than Princess Toadstool who disguised herself as a sheikah and became the apprentice of Zant to learn the “Power” to save her friends from death. She remembered the fights she had with Nicholas and how she drove him away.

She sits in her corner
Singing herself to sleep
Wrapped in all of the promises
That no one seems to keep
She no longer cries to herself
No tears left to wash away
Just diaries of empty pages
Feelings gone a stray

She sung herself a melody to keep herself from crying, but the memories kept coming to her making it difficult for her to forget.

Toadstool thought because she became Zant’s apprentice she would be invisible to Nicholas and his friends and they would cast her out. She sung the melody again.
